Sara A. Wong, PhD en Economía por la Universidad de California Los Angeles (UCLA), es Profesora-Investigadora de ESPAE y dirige el Centro de Estudios Asia Pacífico (CEAP) de la ESPOL. La Profesora Wong ha presentado sus trabajos en cinco continentes, y en numerosas ocasiones sus investigaciones han sido galardonadas en competencias de prestigio mundial. Las áreas de interés de sus investigaciones versan sobre impactos en productividad y pobreza de cambios en política comercial –en este ámbito ha desarrollado estudios sobre agricultura familiar y apertura comercial y sobre pobreza multidimensional. Más recientemente ha estudiado los efectos en ingreso y horas de trabajo de aumentos en salarios mínimos. Los resultados de sus investigaciones se han publicado en revistas indexadas como: The Developing Economies, Journal of Business Research y Applied Econometrics and International Development. La profesora Wong se ha desempeñado también como consultora del Banco Mundial, la FAO, la CEPAL, RIMISP, el BID y la CAF, de cuyos trabajos han resultado varias publicaciones.
